Half Price Teak

All of our luxury teak furniture is produced from the highest quality selected grade A+ teak (Tectona Grandis), with 316 marine grade stainless steel fittings to guarantee a long maintenance-free life. Teak is renowned throughout the world for its durability and immunity to the elements and rotting due to its unique oil and rubber content. The Teak wood selected comes from sustained plantations on the island of Java, Indonesia. Half Price Teak  works in harmony with Perum Perhutani, the Indonesian government forestry department, to ensure the conservation of the 400 year old plantation and its surrounding environment.



Our grade A+ Teak is seasoned and kiln dried, resulting in superior quality timber with no knots, lightwood or blackwood. The logs are “Quarter sawn” which means short grain showing, which greatly reduces the chance of splitting and warping. This process of log planking has been traditionally used in boatbuilding for centuries to give longevity. This method of planking is not known to most furniture manufacturers which is why Half Price Teak  furniture is second to none worldwide.



The whole process is controlled from felling, milling and sorting. It is then precision machined to a minimum tolerance and finally hand finished with 800 grit sandpaper, which gives our furniture a glass like finish, extremely smooth to the touch even when aged and silvery grey. This finishing process enhances the impervious qualities of the wood.
